Quickmart Hotdogs: Is the Hype Warranted?

When hunger strikes and cravings call, there’s nothing quite like sinking your teeth into a delicious hot dog. And if you’re on the hunt for a truly satisfying snack that won’t break the bank, look no further than QuickMart.

Actually, Quickmart hotdogs are not really hotdogs but a special South African sausage called boerewors.

Priced at a wallet-friendly 115 Kenyan Shillings, QuickMart’s hot dogs are not only a treat for your taste buds but also for your wallet.

These affordable delights are perfect for satisfying those mid-afternoon hunger pangs or late-night cravings. In fact, with their generous portions, pairing two hot dogs with a beverage can easily transform into a hearty meal that won’t leave you feeling hungry.

But it’s not just about affordability – QuickMart’s hot dogs are a true treat.

The star of the show is undoubtedly their special Boereower sausages, bursting with flavor and made from the finest ingredients, and the best part for me is the textures. Each bite is savory goodness that will leave you craving more.

However, no hot dog is complete without the perfect bun, and QuickMart delivers on that front too. Baked fresh in-store from their supermarket bakery, the bread provides the ideal canvas for the juicy sausage.

While the consistency of the bread may vary depending on when you order and which branch you visit, the overall quality is consistently good, with just the right balance of softness and chewiness. Sometimes it can be harder than your life, you don’t always get the best.

Now, let’s talk toppings. QuickMart’s hot dogs come with caramelized onions, adding a sweet and savory twist to each bite. While the caramelized onions may not always hit the mark, they are generally okay, adding an extra layer of flavor to the experience.

One thing you won’t find on QuickMart’s hot dogs is mustard. Instead, this is weird because yellow mustard is a signature hotdog sauce.

And speaking of unconventional, QuickMart’s assembly method may raise some eyebrows – onions and sauces go on the bottom, while the Boreower sausage sits proudly on top. It may seem odd, but trust me, it works.
